Last weekend I had the most amazing adventure. I am not the type
of person who rather stay home and lay down on sofa watching movies or do random stuff. I like to travel and I like to discover new places, to be constantly moving, and this weekend I ended up in absolute paradise.
I know Marius (one of the founder of Greenventure), since high
school, when we were just two artists with a lots of dreams at the beginning of our journey. Sunday night, two weeks ago, I receive his invitation, via facebook. I was just searching on the internet some great places to see, I told Madeline about it, and she response in the same way I did: Let't go!
Traveling by train is an awesome experience. It's relaxing, you
can see beautiful parts of the country and also can be a great way to meet people. The weather was announcing to be beautiful, without any rain clouds near, so we enjoy the t-shirt and the shorts :) (although we got a tan not quite uniform :P).
I haven't been on a mountain trail before, and I didn't have the right pair of shoes for
this. Luckily, Marius's friend and travel guide, Andrei, had a pair for me that fits perfectly, this way I want to say, again, thank you very much Andrei! :)
So, with the perfect pair of shoes, we climbed to the top of Sorica peak. From here started the climbing and descending, with the most breathtaking views. We went from Azuga to Sinaia all the way on the top of the Baiului mountains.
I could've spent the entire day there just siting and admiring the view. Beside us there were other people, along the trail. I loved to go in the front of the group just to enjoy the peaceful of the nature, the sun and the wind.
On our way we meet three or five shepherds with 2-3 big dogs
guarding the sheeps. I like dogs, but I am also afraid of the big ones that are coming to me, barking. When I saw a big dog coming, I was shivering in fear (just a little :P), and didn't know exactly what to do, run or stay, therefore I was saying to myself Please don't come near me, please! Well he didn't but after that I stayed a little close to the group when I saw a sheepfold. :)
One of the funniest moment was when we meet the "bear". A guy from
the back of the group started the "alarm". He was asking if the "fierce" animal was a bear, trying not to panic the rest of group. Andrei, started to make fun of us because he knew it was just a dog. Perhaps if I didn't had my 55-200 mm lens with me probably I would got panic too. :)))
You can't plan everything and can't have the time to captured all that
you see or happen. Like this little guy, whom I didn't have the time to take him a good photo, because he run away quickly. Some of the most beautiful moment in a trip have to be lived.
Our descending trail to Sinaia train station, was this kind of moment. It is
easily to climb a mountain but you have to know how to go down properly. You have to lean your back, to bend your knees and alternate right and left turns. In my opinion it was a little difficult but not impossible. Despite some of the group remain in the back, we were able to catch the
train just in time.
So this is it! It was a totally one-of-a-kind experience, and I would definitely
make a trip here some other time.
XoXo,
Carmen M.
P.S. If you want to go on an adventure and have an experience like I had, you can search on Facebook, Greenventure and SkyAzuga and you will be updated with their next trip. Have fun and see you there!
Frumos Carmen :)
